About P.G.Department of Mathematics
Go down deep enough into anything and you will find mathematics.
— Dean Schlicter
The Department of Mathematics was established in 1961 at the time of inception of the institute for undergraduate mathematics courses in sciences and art streams. Post graduation in Mathematics started in 2006 after receiving overwhelming response from undergraduate students of the campus pursuing their mathematics as part of course curriculum.
DBT- Govt. of India has awarded us with Star College Scheme under which practical skills in Mathematics will be developed amongst our students
Profile order for faculty members of the department given according to the seniority levels at the campus, while the experience mentioned along their profile is academic experience of each faculty at present institution.

Bachelor's degree in Computer, Statistics and Mathematics discipline (B.Sc.CSM) will equip students with insights from the three disciplines. It is a career oriented programme which will make you employable in these fields. This course will prepare you for graduate industrial career or you can pursue for masters in these three disciplines or related subjects.
Programme Outcomes:
PO1. The well designed program provides an in-depth knowledge of Computer Science and its application which prepares the students to pursue higher study courses in computers like MCA.
PO2.This program gives an insight to Statistics and its applications and enables students to go for higher studies in Statistics and crack competitive exams like Indian Statistical Service Examination (UPSC).
PO3. Students learn Mathematics in-depth during this program and after completion they can also opt for higher studies in Mathematics.
As a whole students get wide choices at the completion of this program.

Bachelor's degree in Honours Mathematics (B.Sc. Honours Mathematics) focuses on developing mathematical skills amongst the students. This three year course gives you the opportunity to study a wide range of mathematical concepts and will prepare you for many graduate jobs as well as for further study including masters in related subjects. This degree covers the concepts from pure and applied mathematics, statistics, computing.
Programme Outcomes:
PO1.Create deep interest in learning mathematics and computer science.
PO2.Develop broad and balanced knowledge and understanding of definitions, concepts, principles and theorems.
PO 3. Familiarize the students with suitable tools of mathematical analysis to handle issues and problems in mathematics and related sciences.
PO4.Enhance the ability of learners to apply the knowledge and skills acquired by them during the programme to solve specific theoretical and applied problems in mathematics and computer science.
PO5. Provide students/learners sufficient knowledge and skills enabling them to undertake further studies in mathematics & computer science and its allied areas on multiple disciplines concerned with mathematics and computing. PO6. Encourage the students to develop a range of generic skills helpful in employment, internships and social activities.

Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.Non-Medical) will equip students with insights from the three disciplines Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.
Programme Outcomes:
The main aim of degree in sciences is to develop a deeper understanding of natural laws, inquiring about the reasons and logic which help to establish methods of observation, calculations, experimentations, etc.
This thus makes B.Sc. a very important weapon and opens a wide range of opportunities for further studies, research and employment opportunities across the world.
Bachelor's degree in B.A. with Maths as one of the elected subject will enhance the mathematical skils which makes you prepare for Civil Services and other competitive exams as well as to pursue post graduation in Mathematics.
